During April 1977 a long-range seismic experiment was carried out in Israel by the Institute for Petroleum Research and Geophysics (IPRG), Israel and the Institutes for Geophysics of the Universities of Hamburg and Karlsruhe. Briefly, the explosion experiment consisted of 20 shots recorded by about 30 MARS type mobile seismic stations. Recordings were made out to a maximum distance range of about 500 km and the station spacing was generally 3-5 km.
