Abstract

1998-07-01 to 1999-06-07
Between the summer of 1998 and the summer of 1999 a dense, linear array of broadband and short period instruments was deployed across the Banggong-Nujiang suture at 89.5°E in central Tibet to record earthquakes. The 54 stations deployed along the 400 km long linear array were supplemented by 8 off-line stations. Prior to the main deployment, two of the stations were also deployed between the summer of 1997 and the summer of 1998. Interpretation has focused on receiver functions analyses, shear-wave splitting analysis, 2-D teleseismic tomography and local seismicity analysis.
